چکیده

This fourth release of the RIT public catalog numerical relativity black-hole-binary waveforms consists 1881 accurate simulations that include 446 precessing and 611 nonprecessing quasicircular/inspiraling binary systems with mass ratios $q={m}_{1}/{m}_{2}$ in range $1/128\ensuremath{\le}q\ensuremath{\le}1$ individual spins up to $s/{m}^{2}=0.95$; 824 eccentric orbits $0<e\ensuremath{\le}1$. The also provides initial parameters binary, trajectory information, peak radiation, final remnant black hole properties. are corrected for center drifting extrapolated future null infinity. As an application this waveform we reanalyze all radiation properties find new, simple, correlations among them, valid presence eccentricity, practical astrophysical usage.

Catalog of 174 binary black hole simulations for gravitational wave astronomy.

This Letter presents a publicly available catalog of 174 numerical binary black hole simulations following up to 35 orbits. The catalog includes 91 precessing binaries, mass ratios up to 8∶1, orbital eccentricities from a few percent to 10(-5), black hole spins up to 98% of the theoretical maximum, and radiated energies up to 11.1% of the initial mass. We establish remarkably good agreement wit...

Gravitational Recoil Velocities from Eccentric Binary Black Hole Mergers

The formation and growth of supermassive black holes is a key issue to unveil the secrets of galaxy formation. In particular, the gravitational recoil produced in the merger of unequal mass black hole binaries could have a number of astrophysical implications, such as the ejection of black holes from the host galaxy or globular cluster. We present estimates of the recoil velocity that include t...

Gravitational waves from eccentric intermediate mass binary black hole mergers

Owing to the difficulty of direct observation, mergers of intermediate-mass black hole binaries are relatively less understood compared to stellar-mass binaries; however, the gravitational waves from their last few orbits and ringdown fall in the band of ground-based detectors. Because the typical source is expected to circularize prior to entering LIGO or VIRGO’s range, inspiral searches conce...
